Here are two words or phrases that you may not find in your typical Spanish course but you will certainly hear these words used in Latin America. In fact, in the last couple of days, I heard Spanish speakers use both here in Medellin, Colombia.

How To Say To Garnish One’s Wages in Spanish

1. embargar el sueldo

¿Me pueden embargar el sueldo por deudas?
Can they garnish my salary because of debts?

2. delirar – to talk nonsense, be delirious

No recuerdo lo que te dije, la fiebre me hizo delirar varios días. (I don’t remember what I said to you; the fever had me talking nonsense for several days).
