Today’s topic is “How To Say The 5 Senses in Spanish” I was surfing the Net a few days ago and visiting some of the online community sites where people learning Spanish like to gather.
And I found a question about Spanish vocabulary that someone posted and that no one had answered. So I thought I’d make a blog post in case this is a Spanish vocabulary question that you also want answered.
How To Say The Five Senses In Spanish
Los Cinco Sentidos (The 5 Senses)
1. vista — sight
2. oído — hearing
3. olfato — smell
4. tacto — touch
5. gusto — taste

Besides referring to one of “los cinco sentidos,” and besides saying “el gusto es mío” (the pleasure is mine), I have heard Spanish speakers use “gusto” when talking about a perception or appreciation for what’s fitting, beautiful, excellent, etc. For example, as in English, we may say “he has good taste.” I have heard Spanish speakers use the word “gusto” and say “Tiene buen gusto” (he/she has good taste – you have good taste)
