I have a list of masculine Spanish words that end in the letter “a.”
I also had a recent experience that I want to share with you that will teach you how to say outline in Spanish.
Recently, I was in the recording studio recording some podcasts with a Spanish instructor from Medellin, Colombia. While in the recording studio, the recording “técnico” (technician) asked me:
How To Say Outline In Spanish
“¿Usted tiene el esquema del podcast?”
Do you have the outline from the podcast?

“Esquema” (outline) is a Spanish word that you are not likely to find in Spanish vocabulary books.
But “esquema” (outline) is a helpful Spanish word to know.
Maybe you noticed that although “esquema” ends with the letter -a it is a masculine word. Which is contrary to the standard Spanish rule that nouns ending in -o are masculine and nouns ending in -a are feminine. There are certain Spanish words that end in -ma — that derive from Greek instead of Latin — and they are masculine:
1. El clima (the climate)
2. El drama (the drama)
3. El idioma (the language)
4. El poema (the poem)
5. El problema (the problem)
6. El programa (the program)
7. El sistema (the system)
8. El tema (the theme)
