In today’s blog post, I have 2 vocabulary words concerning the weather that I want to share with you. After you read this post, you will know how to say thunder and lightning in Spanish:

An electrical spark between two clouds or between a cloud and the Earth.
(i.e. Lightning)

Primero se ve el relámpago y después se escucha el trueno, esto occure porque la luz viaja mas rápdio que el sonido.
(First you see lightning and then you hear thunder, this happens because light travels faster than sound.)

*Note that instead of “relámpago” you may also hear Spanish speakers simply say the word “rayo” for “lightning.”

*Note that “Rayo X” means “X ray.”

Debes taparte los oídos si no quieres oír el trueno. (You should cover your ears if you do not want to hear the thunder.)
