You may hear Spanish-speakers use the phrase “papi chulo” to refer to a man. Mexicans and Puerto Ricans use this term a lot. Papi chulo is used when referring to a male that is a “lady´s man,” “pretty boy,” or “hot guy.”

I know you are probably wondering why am I even listing a word that is now obsolete in both English and Spanish since no one uses cassette tapes or VHS tapes nowadays. But this verb can also mean “to retreat” or “moverse hacia atrás” (to move backwards).

Voy a retroceder la película porque no la entendí. (I am going to rewind the film
because I didn´t understand it.

3. Amígdalas – tonsils

4. trepador(a) – this word literally means “climber.”
But it is often used to describe a “mujer” (woman) who is a “social climber.” A woman who, in order to improve her social standing, wants to be with a man or marry a man who is on a higher social level.
